Daniel Crosby is the Chief Behavioral Officer at Brinker Capital Investments. In this role, he is responsible for bringing behavioral tools, training, and technology to financial advisors to allow for the practical application of behavioral science. He is a psychologist and behavioral finance expert who applies his study of market psychology to everything from financial production design to advisor-client engagement. Daniel has more than 10 years of experience in the financial services industry and has published a number of bestselling books that serve as guides to building stronger advisor-client engagement with a focus on achieving better outcomes.
In 2018, Daniel released his fourth book, The Behavioral Investor, a comprehensive guide to psychological, biological, and neurological impediments to sound investment-decision making. His 2016 book, The Laws of Wealth, was named the best investment book of the year by Axiom Business Book Awards. In 2014, Daniel co-authored his second book with Chuck Widger, Founder and Executive Chairman of Brinker Capital. The New York Times bestseller, Personal Benchmark: Integrating Behavioral Finance and Investment Management, outlines a highly personalized approach to investing that aligns intention with action while fostering an investment experience that is both more enjoyable and more rational. Daniel’s first book, You’re Not that Great (2012), applies elements of behavioral finance to the pursuit of a meaningful life.
Daniel is at the forefront of behavioralizing finance. His ideas and commentary have appeared in major news outlets including, CNBC, the Huffington Post, ThinkAdvisor, and InvestmentNews. He was named one of the “12 Thinkers to Watch” by Monster.com, a “Financial Blogger You Should be Reading” by AARP, and one of the “Top 40 Under 40” by InvestmentNews. Daniel earned his bachelor and doctoral degrees from Brigham Young University and completed postdoctoral training at Emory University.

When he’s not at work, Orion enjoys spending time and traveling with his wife and two children. He also sits on the board of Mustaches for Kids Omaha and Mustaches for Kids International, which have raised millions for children’s charities.
