Advisor Perspectives’ Top Articles in June Cover Practical Concerns

The articles that dominated the views in June were very much focused on the realities of investing, addressing everything from how inflation can affect your returns to incorporating AI into retirement evaluations.

Allan Roth claimed the top spot with “High Inflation May Continue: How It Could Affect Your Investing.” In it, the founder of WealthLogic explored how inflation can erode portfolio returns and offered some practical advice on how to counteract its effects. Inflation has only risen since the story was posted at the beginning of June, meaning the article’s relevance has similarly grown.

Michael Lebowitz of RIA Advisors wrote the second-most-popular article, “Quantum Computing: Hype or the Real Deal?” It served as an explainer for a part of the tech industry that is really just gearing up.

Elm Wealth’s James White and Victor Haghani were the authors of “Where’s My Lunch?” which fell into the No. 3 slot for June. The article looked into what diversification really means.

The fourth-most-read article was “Money Illusion —A User’s Manual” by Edward McQuarrie, a professor emeritus at Santa Clara University, and William Bernstein, the co-founder of Efficient Frontier Advisors. In it, the authors described how your brain can trick you into overlooking things like purchasing power trends when considering your finances.

Finally, “Why It’s Time for Advisors to Add the Actuarial Approach — & Copilot — to Their Retirement Toolkit,” came in fifth during the month. Its author, Ken Steiner, the retired actuary behind the website "How Much Can I Afford to Spend in Retirement?” demonstrated how Microsoft’s AI chatbot Copilot can help advisors when applying actuarial methods to determine safe withdrawal rates for their clients.
